Lake of the Woods is one of my most requested photo locations and one of the most versatile spots in the Champaign-Urbana area. With open fields, wooded trails, a scenic lake, and a charming covered bridge, it offers a variety of beautiful backdrops all within one location.

I love photographing sessions here throughout the year, but it’s especially stunning in the fall when the trees turn vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold. The park also photographs beautifully during golden hour, making it a favorite for both families and couples.

One of the highlights of Allerton is the historic mansion and surrounding gardens, which add a timeless, elegant feel to photos.

One of my favorite times to photograph at Allerton is in May, when the peony gardens are in bloom. The large, colorful flowers create a gorgeous setting for portraits and engagement sessions. From spring flowers to summer greenery and fall colors, Allerton offers beautiful scenery throughout the year and is one of the most versatile locations in the area.
